Angela is a business development consultant and entrepreneur who can’t get enough pistachio gelato, stamps on her passport or sips of Champagne. She believes that the key to success is to never stop exploring or evolving, both personally and professionally.
Her first venture, Bliss Flow Yoga, was founded in 2005 with a dream to create a yoga studio that felt like an extension of her home -- a warm, welcoming place where you could come for a class and stay for a cup of hand-blended tea with friends. Over the course of the next decade -- through innovative programming, superior hospitality and a commitment to excellence -- Angela grew Bliss Flow Yoga from a shoestring operation at it’s conception to a thriving business with a talented team of 40+ that consistently performed above industry averages. In early 2018, Angela successfully sold the studio to a longtime employee and is proud that it will continue to thrive as a locally owned and woman led business.
Her work with yoga led to an innovative Yoga + Wine program that was featured in the New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Gotham Magazine and more. In addition, Angela has led Yoga + Wine workshops and retreats around the world including Napa, Barcelona, Sicily and more.
The daughter of two chefs, Angela grew up in her family’s restaurant developing her taste for the simple pleasures in life -- good food and good wine shared with family. She got her first taste of the wine industry working as a wine buyer in San Francisco beginning in the late '90s. After earning her Certified Sommelier in 2010, she dipped her toes in grape crushing at Patz & Hall Winery during the 2012 harvest. In 2013, she worked the wine harvest at Bedrock Wine Company which specializes in wines from California's historic vineyards. Angela also founded and ran Angels + Thieves Wines, based in Sonoma, from 2013-2015. This innovative online wine club specialized in small production craft wines and wines from women winemakers paired with recipes from around the globe.
In early 2013, she also joined her father, Chef Peppino Gargano, as marketing director in the newest family venture, Gargano + Co Artisan Foods, which produced hand-crafted pasta sauces and meal starters for specialty retail until his retirement in late 2017. She has also collaborated on a series of trips with Shop, Wine and Dine, a luxury tour company based in New York that specializes in tours for food, wine and music lovers to Italy and Cuba.
Angela currently consults for organizations, both big and small, on marketing, social media and how to start or grow your business. She regularly consults for the Stanford School of Medicine on social media as well as guest blogging at their MedX conferences. Her diverse experiences and strong entrepreneurial spirit gives her a unique perspective and ability to help your organization achieve its goals. Angela believes in big dreams, hard work and appreciating life's little pleasures.
